We are so very excited to be hosting the 5K Trail Run & 1 Mile Predict for the PIE Spooktacular on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 here at the Walters’ Pumpkin Patch. PIE (Partners in Education) have decided to move their premier event to the Patch this year and with our scenic landscape within the Flinthills of Kansas, the runners ought to have a spooktacular run! Registration: 7-7:45 am. 5K start time: 8am. 1 Mile Predict start time: 9am. 5K registration fee: $22.00 ($25.00 after October 7th); 1-Mile fee: $5.00. All runners and walkers in costume will be entered in a prize drawing. Let’s see how many in costume runners we can get!
Registration and credit card payment is available online at www.eldoradoschools.org/local/PIEFoundation. Registration forms are also available at the USD 490 Administration Office, 124 W. Central Ave. For more information about the event, call Judy Smith (322-4800).
We surely hope this will be an event that can be held for many years to come at our Kansas agritourism facility.
And in case you’re not a runner, come join us for the first Witches’ Night Out on Friday evening, September 16th. Beginning at 6pm there will be food, there will be drink, there will be shopping, there will be grins and giggles, and there will be no admission, men or children! This is a ladies night out, so put on your best witches’s garb (good witch, bad witch or indifferent witch) and bring all your witchy friends for this special event being held at the Walters’ Pumpkin Patch. We’ll have you on your broom and headed back home by 10pm.
Until next time….we’re down in the Patch…..and FYI, there are alot of pumpkins and gourds in spite of the hot and dry weather! See you all soon!
