We have the aerial photos of the Walters’ Pumpkin Patch corn maze for our Kansas Pumpkin Fest 2012! Thank you so very much Bob Doile as the pilot with the plane and Bill Rebstock as photographer with the camera! These aerial photos look so pretty and green as Kansas crops were withering and dying. It’s been so terribly hot and dry this year at our Kansas pumpkin patch as it has other pumpkin patches in the state and across the U.S. BUT we just got two inches of rain this weekend, so the flowers ought to continue producing pretty pumpkin bulbs which can turn into the various pumpkins for our customers this fall. Now we can get excited for the pumpkin crop.
I have to tell everyone about our new fall attractions that Carroll is building: a stationery gerbil wheel for humans and a combine to play in for adults and the kids too. This gerbil wheel is a hoot and a hollar. The faster one walks, the faster the wheel goes; just like a real gerbil wheel. Plus he has re-built a horse walker that nephew Jeff Ruckert found at one of his auctions for us…..this one is heavy duty for parents that want to ride! And along with our new Maze game, Farm Scene Investigation, we’ll have more fun attractions for all our visitors.
I believe the hot, dry summer of 2012 is now behind all of us and we’re gettin’ ready for a grand fall season here at Walters’ Pumpkin Patch. The season begins September 14th at 6pm with the Witches Night Out for ladies only dressed in witchy attire. Then our season begins the next day, Saturday, September 15th. We’re open daily from 10am to 7pm, except Sundays 1pm-7pm. Hope to see everyone soon!
