With all the new happenings at the farm, we are going to be changing the name of our facility to The Walters Farm. We’re still Walters Pumpkin Patch, but that name just doesn’t encompass all that is going on here North of El Dorado, Ks. We are booking lots of weddings, reunions, and company parties. So finding our website and all our fall activities is easier now with the name change…..but don’t forget the “The Walters Farm” or you’ll end up with a Walters Farm a long way from here!
New this fall at our Kansas agritourism facility will be our giant rocking chair that is being designed and crafted by Kevin. His wife Destiny has been working at the Patch for several years now in the fall. We can hardly wait to show everyone our new photo opportunity sitting in the giant chair! We also have Becky’s Bakery and Mud Pie area complete with a hand wash station! We’ll be using potting soil; so not quite as messy, but just a lot of fun! Sand for sugar, potting soil in the flour bin, sawdust and pebbles for chocolate chips. I can hardly wait for the creations of these little minds! And thank you niece Chelsey for the nonworking stove to bake our mud pies! Another new attraction is our Pumpkinland Game fashioned after Candy Land. Every player will have their own spinner and obstacles to maneuver. This will be a hoot and a holler too this fall. By the way: Carroll is also working on a 4 man teeter totter to add to our attractions lineup!
As September 20th, 2014 rapidly approaches, we hope each of you is enjoying your summer activities. Baseball and swimming is almost done in the area. School supply lists are posted; enrollment is underway. Our first weekend (Sept 20-21) will be half price admission weekend, so be sure to come see all our new attractions at half the price of regular admission! Until then…..we’re down in the patch!
